Homegrown Slow Cooker Chicken

Makes excellent juicy chicken with a little kick and very little work.

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Large plastic zip lock bag: 1
  • Salt: 4 tsp
  • Paprika: 2 tsp
  • Cayenne Pepper: 1 tsp
  • Onion Powder: 1 tsp
  • Ground Thyme: 1 tsp
  • Ground White Pepper: 1 tsp
  • Garlic Powder: ½ tsp
  • Ground Black Pepper: ½ tsp
  • Olive Oil: 1.5 tbsp
  • Whole Chicken: 1 of these guys
DIRECTIONS:

Step 1) Mix everything together except the plastic bag and the chicken in a small bowl to make a scrumptious seasoning mixture.
Step 2) Rub seasoning mixture evenly over the entire chicken and under the skin. Then place the seasoned chicken into the large zip lock bag and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
Step 3) Take the seasoned chicken from the bag and place it in your slow cooker on LOW for 4-8 hours or until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear. Place an instant read thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken to confirm it reads at least 165 degrees F.
Step 4) Remove chicken from your slow cooker, cover well with tin foil and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Pairs well with mashed potatoes and Greek salad. Serves 4-6.
Step 5) Enjoy!!
